About Dr. Jeff Phillips

I am a registered practicing psychologist who grew up in North Bay. I have been in private practice for over 30 years and have done so on a full-time basis for over 20 years. My original studies took me to Wilfrid Laurier University, the University of Western Ontario and York University.

After graduating with a Doctoral Degree in Clinical Counselling Psychology from York University, I returned home to North Bay to work with adults at the regional psychiatric hospital for 5 years. I then moved on to perform the duties of Clinical Supervisor at North Bay’s Children’s Mental Health Centre, working with children and families as well as associated community resources such as schools, the courts, Indigenous services, Children's Aid Society, etc. A part-time practice evolved into a full-time practice in 1995, and that practice continues with passion to this day.

As the owner and clinical director and a direct service provider with Lifeworks, my primary goal has been to contribute to our community and make a positive difference in people's lives.  Nothing means more to me than to be a part of a person's efforts to create a Life that Works.  It is a great compliment to have a person place their trust in someone like me and allow a difference to be made.
